For me, every man distinguishes
himself by his essence his personal movement, as opposed to that which
is universal. Description of Robert Delaunay's Style The prevailing characteristic of Robert Delaunay's work is vivid colors, circular compositions and lyrical movement. His colors were the most spectacular of any painter of his generation. During his early cubist period he favored a pallet of brilliant orange, greens and reds. As he matured he gravitated towards pure abstraction and a cooler palette. He avoided redundant detail, instead using dazzling color and strong lines to produce works of genius. He felt the composition of colors was as essential as a painting's subject matter in communicating meaning. Robert Delaunay's work is high-keyed, exploratory and intense. He explored in his art a new world of passion and vibrancy, but with a expressiveness and profound understanding of color
