About the Painter Luc Olivier Merson's brooding pictures, painted in a lucid and meticulous style, had an extraordinary way of revealing a subjects sensual, "natural" qualities and yet, at the same time, create in the viewer an almost theatrical feeling of high drama. He had an affinity with nature, especially its feral and ethereal aspects. Historical accuracy, blithe elegance, and an ethereal atmosphere characterize his mystical painting style.
