Frederic Remington 1866-1909 American illustrator and sculptor Education -Yale University Cause of Death - appendicitis Frederic Remington was born in Canton, NY, October 1861. In his later years Remington became a good buddy to William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody and was a regular visitor to his famous ranch. In 1909, at the height of his prominence, Remington departed this life due to a painful appendicitis at the young age of forty-eight in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
